Health Services Union Agreement

The union held a reps conference at Perth Zoo on Thursday (April 12th) to finalise the minutes of the union`s application for a new enterprise contract (EBA). The offer includes salary increases, subject to a member vote, of $1,000 per year from July 1, 2018 and an additional $1,000 from July 1, 2019 (pro rata for part-time workers). The first pay increase is paid only to workers who are working when a new agreement is registered by the VA Labour Relations Board. The offer is valid for a two-year contract that expires on June 30, 2020, the salary project is available here. Enterprise agreements (sometimes called eba agreements or partnership agreements) are enterprise-level agreements between employers and workers and their unions on terms of employment. Although bonuses cover the minimum wage and the terms of a sector, enterprise agreements can cover specific agreements for a given company. Note: If you do not have access to the Internet from your email, you should contact the union office (see below) to get a ballot. Members who do not have email addresses are automatically sent by paper. Do you need a consultation on the agreement you are covering? If you are a member of your union, Health Services Union S/NT, you can contact the union or contact the Fair Work Ombudsman at: www.fairwork.gov.au/ To have a say in what is being negotiated on your behalf, you must become a member of your union. There will be no further salary increases or changes to other terms and conditions of employment until the union and the Department of Health agree. No no. You can no longer enter into new individual agreements.

The goal is to protect people from confrontation. As you know, the union has begun negotiations with the employer for a new agreement to begin on July 1, 2018, and we are conducting extensive consultations with members to establish the claim protocol. We have interviewed members, and meetings are held on the metro hospital sites, on HSS and on videoconferences with our CIRE members – pay attention to your email invitation to participate in a meeting on these sites. We had a great resonance with the survey – thank you for taking the time and effort to tell us what matters to you. We continue to work on the large number of comments and proposals from members on what we should say in the EBA. If you would like to add the comments we have already collected, you can do so by talking to your representative, attending a union meeting, sending an email or calling the union office. What we do know is that a vote against the current offer would mean that the effective date of a wage increase would not come into effect until we finally agreed and that all the conditions that would change would probably be lost. Enterprise agreements can include a wide range of topics such as: you can contact the union office at 9328 5155 or email union@hsuwa.com.au if you would like to discuss the offer and its implications for you.
